The UAE and France have decided to begin a bilateral initiative to explore commercial and investable prospects. This is to accelerate clean energy development, primarily in the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate (HTA) industries. Including the exploration of clean hydrogen solutions for mobility. Also, to maintain a sustainable fuel production.
In this article, we will discuss about these news. Industrial leaders from both nations have collaborated on the creation, investment, and operation of over 6.2 gigatonnes of clean and renewable energy programs across the world, including two of the world’s largest single-site solar projects in the UAE. They have mobilized over $6 billion in investment, displacing over 10 million tonnes of CO2 each year. The program’s activities will be formally inaugurated during COP28, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC28th)’s session, which will be held in Dubai in November of this year.
1. Joint dedication to programs
The initiative will expand on both nations’ collaborative commitment to speed project discovery and finance, as well as help enterprises involved in the development of novel clean energy solutions with the potential to lower the carbon footprint of economic sectors.
It will carry out initiatives largely aimed at decarbonizing HTA sectors and assisting enterprises that have created novel clean energy solutions in green hydrogen and sustainable fuel production, using the origination, industrial experience, and finance skills of both public and private institutions.
Both governments will investigate the use of public finance options to support qualifying climate-friendly initiatives when suitable. The program will concentrate on low-carbon hydrogen and sustainable fuel production, as well as the value chains that support them.
The nations will strive to achieve real, good outcomes in the areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation. As well as to maximize the effect of their climate-related programs on biodiversity.
2. Take advantage of opportunity of oil and gas jobs in the UAE
The investable prospects will be established together, with Masdar heading the UAE side of the cooperation, and will strive to completely line with the aims of the Paris Agreement on climate change, with each opportunity being evaluated using appropriate and globally recognized methods.
“This initiative builds on the long-standing organization between the UAE and France to take benefit of practical, profitable chances for low carbon growth that will accelerate the energy evolution and promote climate action and sustainable fuel production in both our countries and around the world,” said Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, President-Designate for COP28, and Chairman of Masdar.
“We will increase our efforts to promote renewable and zero-carbon energy sources in order to decarbonize economies, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors, by using our combined technology and energy expertise.”
“As the UAE prepares to host COP28, we are determined to make it a COP of Action and a COP for everyone. We offer an open invitation to the world to join us in collaborative efforts to enhance ambition, move from discourse to action, and fulfill the Paris Agreement’s primary aim of keeping 1.5 alive.”
“This focused initiative will exploit synergies between public and private sectors from both nations. However, this is to speed the execution of important projects of renewable energy development for transportation.” Said Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. “I am extremely pleased with this new picture of France-UAE strategic collaboration and our shared goal of raising goals for COP28.”
3. This is the era to look for a job in the oil and gas sector
The nature and integration of the Dubai oil and gas company, professional activities, and practices in the energy business of the twenty-first century are quickly changing. Nowadays, career planning is incomplete unless the previous minimum breadth and depth of knowledge necessary across many fields is assessed.
Most professionals aspire to gain enough knowledge and experience in their first five years. This, to qualify for a certification or an equivalent engineering certification in their chosen subject.
Along with conventional petroleum engineering disciplines, certification and cross-functional knowledge standards are increasing to include emergent areas. Such as digital technology, sustainable fuel production, and energy transition.
As a result, the responsibilities of SPE members, both young graduates and season professionals, are fast expanding. Therefore, finding oil and gas companies in UAE jobs is fundamental. Those who do not continuously adapt should be aware of the implications of these developments for job security. Also, we should be aware of professional advancement in the rising 21st-century energy economy.
